Ìpàdé meets the needs of womxn of color by cultivating community and providing high-impact programming designed for us by us.

Ipade is styled after Ìpàdé (ee-pah-day) - a word from the West African Yoruba language that conveys a sense of gathering and coming together. It’s important for Black, Indigenous, and womxn of color (cis, trans, and nonbinary) who are working for justice, equality, and positive social change to be able to gather and grow.

In 2020, Elizabeth Dawes Gay founded Ipadé, which she describes as a “functional sanctuary” that can provide a community and resources for women of color. She says it is the next iteration of her lifelong mission to advocate for women of color and ensure that they have access to the tools and opportunities that they need for health and well-being. - fastcompany.com article
